It's Here!

Consider this the first day of project re-decorate the living room.  Nothing like cabin fever during yet another snow storm to decide, yes, I really am sick of everything I put up on our walls when we first moved in.  And, yes, I just took everything off of the walls over my lunch break.  There are many, many ideas I'm toying with, but just not sure how everything is going to work together yet.

There is one definite.

This gem from Erica Eriksdotter (our prize from one of last year's Young House Love giveaways) will absolutely be hung proudly on our walls.

It came last week after snow storm numero uno, and I finished up matting and framing it today during snow storm numero dos.  After scoring a half-priced frame from Michaels, using a 40% off coupon on the matte and using some extra paint to get the color on the frame just right, I'm loving the pop of bold color and the slight contrast between the cream and white.

I had started incorporating a bit more blue into our living room a few months ago and this is giving me the push to go all the way.  Start fresh.

Too bad the pooly blue is also giving me a major case of spring fever.

Can you have cabin fever and spring fever simultaneously?  That's a lot of fever.  Someone better get me more cowbell.

If you, like me, need something colorful and cheery to brighten your day, head over to Erica's gallery.  She does everything from special commissioned projects (like our Sea of Hydrangeas) to bridal bouquets and more.

Thank you, thank you, Erica!  I love it.

  1. That is very cool! I've been trying to start collecting some real art too, but a lot of what we have is stuff that I did in college... not exactly up to the quality I'd like to start collecting. Oh well. I love your painting!
